ABOUT

YOGA found me in the early 1970’s, searching for those things that the young seek so intently and intensely:  meaning, purpose, truth – whatever title we give it.  I was living in London, England, where yoga was beginning to become known, along with meditation, thanks to people like Christmas Humphreys, Allan Watts and the Maharishi.  I was captivated by two huge tomes called “On Yoga” by Sri Aurobindo, which I still have.  Over the years, through marriage, children, and the obligations of life, yoga remained with me – sometimes as a regular practice, sometimes haphazard.  But the path was always there, and the seeking a constant interest.

As children grew and time became more free I began to study more deeply, taking teacher trainings and learning from the knowledgeable,  kind and patient teachers – Jody Meyers, Silver Frith and Isha Ward -  who guided me through the 200 and 500-hour Kripalu teachings. Stephanie Calhoun and Biff Mithoefer taught me the quiet power of Yin Yoga.  Many more workshops with wise and wonderful people over the years have added layers of depth and understanding, and the great delight in realizing that we never ever stop learning.

I love everything about yoga, but most of all, I love the connection with the people, the opportunity to share what I can, and to learn from them so that together we can be companions on this journey into body, mind and spirit.
